I'm Suzanne. I'm a wife and a mother. I used to be a Registered Nurse.

I became a photographer years ago after taking my 18 month old baby to a studio where she cried the entire photoshoot.  It was stressful for us both LOL and I only got one picture of her not crying. I ordered it as BIG as I could afford, a 20x24 inch print and had it framed professionally.

Six months went by and I wanted more images of her than just ONE.  I didn't want everything on my walls to be snapshots. 

I craved beautiful images on end tables and shelves like you would see in a magazine, or in someone's home who had more money than me.

I lived in Hazard, Kentucky. There was no portrait photographer. So I became one.

That was 21 years ago. 

I found clients that wanted the same thing I was providing and magic happened!

They are still my clients today.

 

Whew! It's been an exciting, nerve-wracking, emotional, time consuming, and overwhelmingly positive journey!

My approach to photography is simple and authentic.

I keep props to a minimum, keep lighting natural and bright, direct the sessions to be fun and easy. 

I just love capturing expressions, moments between siblings, side glances from your husband, all the eye rolls from your teenagers and more!

Most people think they need to lose weight, buy better clothing, get their braces off, let their 5 year old's teeth come in, before they book a photoshoot. I BELIEVE THE OPPOSITE IS TRUE!
